UX-7: UTARC's 7th Experimental Balloon Flight Mission

UX-7 will be launched at 11 AM EST (1600 UTC) on 25 February 2006 from a model rocketry launch field in Cookeville, TN. The payload will carry the following equipment:

2-meter APRS (144.39 MHz) beaconing at 20 second intervals
30-meter CW transmitter (10.122 MHz), 500 mW, beaconing telemetry continuously
Ballast (propylene glycol) and pump, to be emptied completely at altitude

The balloon has landed at 36.14755N, 82.44683W.

After 36 days in a tree, UX-7 has been recovered!

Travis Maclay and his friend Clint shot the payload down with a potato gun. More details to follow. Here is the real reason for needing this payload back: the data logged onboard.
